The Guggenheim, Winter
I made this picture of the Guggenheim Museum in February 2020, on my last trip to visit the museum before it was forced to close by the global pandemic. There is a cool, crisp quality of light that has always stood out to me as a particular idiosyncrasy of winters in New York City, and here it adds another dimension to Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic 5th Avenue building. I used to live just a few blocks from the Guggenheim and would pass it a few times per week – it’s a place that never looks the same twice.
